Bombardier: Supporting Aerospace Innovation in Ontario

GOAL 1:
Supporting DAIR’s Academic and Research Activities
- Bombardier will provide an aggregate of $1 million CDN over five years for the creation of two Aerospace Research Centres with Ryerson University and University of Toronto;
- Bombardier will provide $1.5 million CDN over five years to support core research activities at our Toronto (Downsview) Aeromaterials Research Centre. This will include further activities on aircraft noise reduction, advanced cabin development, aircraft operations support, and advanced manufacturing research, among other activities;
- Bombardier will provide $150,000 CDN for the Landing Gear Research project led by Centennial College;
- Bombardier will extend its existing training programs by training a minimum of 50 individuals over the next three years at Centennial College’s new Downsview Campus;
- Bombardier will provide in-kind support for five years for assisting in the development of training and equipment.
GOAL 2:
Supporting DAIR’s Operations
- Bombardier will provide $900,000 CDN over the next three years to support formal operations of the DAIR Innovation Centre;
- Bombardier will maintain active engagement by appointing a member to the DAIR Board of Directors.
GOAL 3:
Preserving the Aerospace Heritage and Maintaining a Physical Presence in Downsview
- Bombardier will provide a total of $2.5 million CDN in capital funding (2018-2019) to refurbish the existing 4,800 square foot heritage “Moth Building”.
