Bombardier announces new internship program in Canada
With the start of the school year upon us, Bombardier hosted an event today to launch a new and expanded internship program, with senior executives, university and business representatives, and over 100 interns in attendance.
Taking place at the Challenger site in Dorval, our company committed to providing 1,000 paid internship positions across Bombardier Aviation and Bombardier Transportation in Canada for the 2019-2020 school year.

said Mike Nadolski, Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs.
Partnering with education institutions
Bombardier has expanded its network of post-secondary recruitment partners to 23 colleges and universities across Canada, allowing the program to widen its reach and “identify and hire the brightest minds from the next generation as we continue to drive innovation in the aerospace and rail industry,” Mike explained.
The program is expected to provide opportunities to 600 interns pursuing studies in engineering or science degrees, including mechanical, electrical, aeronautical, chemical, and industrial engineering, as well as computer science and artificial intelligence. Additionally, 400 intern positions will focus on management functions, such as finance, accounting, IT, human resources, public affairs, and law.

As Mike explained, “With hundreds of former interns accepting full-time positions with Bombardier over the past few years, our intern program serves as a valuable pipeline for talent to support our future growth.”

Mike said, noting that this is the first time we’re publicly committing to exceeding 1,000 internships for a single academic year. For example, in 2016, there were 550 paid internship positions.
